Get ahead in IB Maths
Without the Stress
One-to-one online maths tuition from an experienced tutor who knows exactly what it takes to get results in IB maths.
I care about doing this well.
Here's what that means in practice.
Over the past 20 years I've built the expertise, the resources, and the approach to help every student I work with get the results they're capable of. I work across both IB Mathematics courses, Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation, at SL and HL, and understand what the examiners expect across papers and the IA exploration.
A tutor who stays
Tutoring isn't a side job for me. I build long-term relationships with my students, supporting them through IB from start to finish, so you have someone who knows how you learn and what you need next.
Resources no one else has
I've built hundreds of custom worksheets and practice assessments aligned to both AA and AI at SL and HL, from topic drills to full practice papers.
Support between sessions
Maths questions don't wait for your next appointment. Students can reach out anytime on WhatsApp when they're stuck, whether it's the night before a test or working through their IA exploration.
Dedicated IA support
The Internal Assessment is unlike anything else in IB maths. I help students choose the right topic, structure their exploration, and refine it to meet exactly what the examiners are looking for. No guesswork, no wasted effort.
How sessions work
Learn from anywhere
Join Zoom sessions from home or wherever works best. Save notes and screenshots from every session so you can review them anytime, without hunting through textbooks or videos.
1-to-1 focus
No group sessions where you might get left behind. Every minute is dedicated to your specific gaps, ensuring we move at a pace that actually works for you.
Total schedule control
Manage your sessions via an online calendar. You can book, move, or reschedule instantly to fit around school, sport, or anything else that comes up.
Tailored practice material
Every student gets practice problems matched to their curriculum, their level, and the specific areas they need to strengthen. No generic worksheets.
Flat rate: $97 per hour.

I offer over 20 years of experience providing stable, professional mentorship to students who find mathematics challenging. I work across both IB Mathematics courses, Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation, at SL and HL. I understand what the examiners expect across papers and the IA exploration, so students are always preparing for how they'll actually be assessed. My goal is to give every student the clear methods and patient guidance they need to get the results they're capable of.
Both Simon and I just wanted to thank you very much for all the hours you have put in with Jonnie over the past 3 years, he wouldn't have got to where he is now without your careful and thorough teaching and I have never seen him come home smiling like he did after his Stats exam!
Very interesting and significant that the subject he so struggled with i.e. Maths was his top mark! Thanks again for all of your great work with him last year which contributed to such wonderful exam results!
We are thrilled and I'd say it's pretty much thanks to you!
Frequently Asked Questions
For students planning to study STEM, AA HL is the preferred course. For business pathways, some top economics and finance universities require AA HL but many others will accept AI HL. For students who want to focus their energy on other subjects, AI SL is usually the best fit. I'm happy to help my students in making the right choice for them.
Completely clocking off over the summer holidays between DP1 and DP2. The long New Zealand summer break makes this particularly common here. Revising two years' worth of content for the final exam is a big task, and going backwards at the halfway point is a mistake students come to regret.
I help with brainstorming and selecting a topic, structuring the report, checking the accuracy of the mathematics, and suggesting potential paths for exploration. I won't write any part of the assessment for my students.
Yes. Predicted grades can realistically be improved by one or two points with focused, strategic study starting 6 to 10 weeks before the final exams. The earlier preparation starts, the more ground there is to make up. Leaving it until the last few weeks limits what's possible.
