The same tutor every year
Many students start with me in Year 11 and stay through Level 3. By then I know their strengths, their gaps, and which standards to plan around.
Practice for every standard
Hundreds of worksheets and practice assessments written to the current NCEA maths standards. If an internal is coming up, there's usually a practice version ready.
Help before internals and externals
Students can message me on WhatsApp the night before an internal or during exam revision, and I usually reply the same day.
Help with course choices
Calculus or Statistics at Level 3? I'll help you decide based on the student's strengths and what they want to study next.
How it works
Free 30-minute intro on Zoom. We start on whichever standard is coming up next, so the session is useful from the first minute. Parents are welcome but don't need to attend.
Weekly one-hour sessions. We work on a shared whiteboard, and students keep the notes from every session.
Reschedule online. Move a session through your booking link when something comes up, with 24 hours' notice.
WhatsApp between sessions for questions that can't wait a week.
First session free, then $97 an hour. No minimum number of sessions. If you want a regular weekly time held for you, a one-term commitment secures it.

I've been tutoring maths for over 20 years, working one-on-one with students from Year 7 through to university.
I teach NCEA, Cambridge and IB, as well as first- and second-year university maths. Most students come to me for one exam and stay for three years or more. By then I know how they think, where they usually slip up, and what's coming next for them, so we can deal with problems before they show up in a test.
I've also written hundreds of my own worksheets and practice papers. If a student needs another twenty questions on trig the night before a test, I usually have them ready, and they can message me on WhatsApp if they get stuck.
My practice material is written to the current standards, including the new ones coming in, so students prepare for the assessment they'll actually sit.

Yes, I have prepared practice exams for the new Level 1 standard and for the NCEA Numeracy assessments.
For internals completed under test conditions at school, I prepare my students as I would for any other exam. For internal assessments completed at home, I can offer feedback and suggestions and help with structure, but I won't write any part of the work for you.
It depends on where you're heading. If you're planning to study engineering, physics, or computer science, Calculus is usually essential. If you're leaning toward business, psychology, or health sciences, Statistics is often more relevant. Some students take both. It's also worth checking the prerequisites for specific university papers. For example, some university business and finance papers require a calculus prerequisite, which can catch students off guard if they only took Statistics at school. I'm happy to help my students think through this decision.
