Get Ahead in Maths
Without the Stress
One-to-one online maths tuition from an experienced tutor focused on building deep understanding that lasts.
I care about doing this well.
Here's what that means in practice.
Over the past 20 years I've built the expertise, the resources, and the approach to help every student I work with show what they're actually capable of.
A tutor who stays
Tutoring isn't a side job for me. I build long-term relationships with my students, so you have someone who knows how you learn and what you need next, not a rotating cast of uni students.
Resources no one else has
I've built hundreds of custom worksheets and assessments over 20+ years across NCEA, Cambridge, and IB. Need an extra practice internal for trig? I've got you covered.
Support between sessions
Maths questions don't wait for your next appointment. Students can reach out anytime on WhatsApp when they're stuck and get help when it matters most.
Expertise across the board
I teach across NCEA, Cambridge, and IB and stay on top of every curriculum change and assessment update. Current, precise guidance and focused preparation for what comes next.
How sessions work

Join Zoom sessions from home or wherever works best. Save notes and screenshots from every session so you can review them anytime, without hunting through textbooks or videos.

I offer over 20 years of experience providing stable, professional mentorship to students who find mathematics challenging. I work across NCEA, Cambridge, and IB, and I've helped students at every level, from those needing to build confidence in the basics through to those preparing for their most important exams. My goal is to give every student the clear methods and patient guidance they need to make real progress and feel confident in their ability.
Both Simon and I just wanted to thank you very much for all the hours you have put in with Jonnie over the past 3 years, he wouldn't have got to where he is now without your careful and thorough teaching and I have never seen him come home smiling like he did after his Stats exam!
Very interesting and significant that the subject he so struggled with i.e. Maths was his top mark! Thanks again for all of your great work with him last year which contributed to such wonderful exam results!
We are thrilled and I'd say it's pretty much thanks to you!
Frequently Asked Questions
In class, students know what topic they're working on, so the method is obvious. In a test, topics are often mixed and they have to figure out the right approach themselves. That's a different skill, and one that needs to be practised.
Subject to availability, new students may start at any time. It's never too late to start making progress.
That's completely fine. I'll spend the first session working through a range of problems to identify exactly where the gaps are.
Primary school maths often rewards memory and speed. Students who can recall facts quickly do well and assume they're good at maths. When secondary school introduces more abstract concepts and multi-step problems, those students can struggle because they've never needed to develop deeper understanding. It's very common, and it's fixable.
In my experience, most students who say they hate maths are really saying they've lost confidence in it. Once they start understanding concepts they'd previously given up on, the attitude shifts.
